7-star Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Greninja raid – the best counters
Greninja is added to the file Pokemon carmine And Violet Listing via Tera Raids Seven Stars. This event raid is of higher difficulty, Just like the last oneso you must be properly prepared before diving in.
Seven-star Greninja’s Tera Raids will be run January 26th at 7 PM to January 30th at 6:59 PM EST And February 9th at 7 PM to February 13th at 6:59 PM ESTSo if you missed it the first time, you’ll have a second chance. If you miss the event entirely, many players will raise a Froakie, so you can always get one through a trade, although it won’t have the Mightiest Mark event.
These raids are hard and you won’t even be able to access them until you unlock six-star raids, which will require you to clear Ace Academy Championship And do a handful of four- and five-star raids. Jacq will call you once you reach the requirements, and warn you to stay away from these powerful raid dens.
Greninja Tera Raid bonuses
When you defeat Greninja you will be able to catch it, but you can only catch one. After you catch Greninja, you won’t be able to get another one, even if you successfully clear the raid again. You can keep beating Greninja to get additional rewards after catching it.
Just like the seven-star raid targets that came before it, Greninja has what it has Hidden ability, protea, which changes its type to the type of animation you’re about to use. This only works once per key, but has no effect while the Pokemon is in Terastillized form, so you won’t have to worry about it during a raid. This special Greninja will also come with IVs are perfect and the Stronger Mark.
Just like other Tera Raids, you can get a lot of good loot, like Exp. Candy, Tera Shards, and Bottle Caps by completing the raid. On the first scan you will get TM91 (Toxic Spikes) and Ability Patch. Greninja does not drop Herba Mystica. You can see the full loot schedule here Serebii.net.
Greninja Tera Raid the best counters
As of this writing, there are some successful builds we’ve seen: cloudsirAnd GastrodonAnd Slowpro (same from Sandris raidsIn fact).
Greninja is level 100 with the toxic Tera type. She knows Gunk Shot, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Night Slash, Double Team and Toxic Spikes. You will use Toxic Spikes immediately at the beginning of the match, poisoning your Pokémon only if it faints and returns to battle.
As usual, there are plenty of builds that can help take down Greninja or solo completely. While we’ve seen it turn out with Pokémon like Kingambit and Toxapex online, the Pokémon we list below are the ones we have first-hand experience with and give our stamp of approval.
Greninja Slowbro Tera Raid Build
- nature: decent
- capacity: It doesn’t matter
- Terra type: Psychological
- electric vehicles: 4 HP / 252 Defense / 252 Special Attack
- IVS: Maximum HP, Defense, Special Attack
- Retained item: A crooked spoon or leftover food
- move set: Stored Energy (TM41), Iron Defense (TM104), Bad Plot (TM140)
Just like Cinderace, this Slowbro will only pack a combo by stacking Iron Defense, Nasty Plot, and then using Stored Power.
On the first turn, be sure to set up Iron Defense, as Greninja is actually known for the Night Slash, which is a dark type move that is very effective against Slowbro. Slowbro should not be killed, as long as it is properly trained. After using Iron Defense once or twice, the damage from Night Slash would be minimal.
If your team doesn’t have any support, make sure to keep Slowbro healthy. You can use this by teaching him a Heal Pulse or you can just use healing chants. (We had a team of all Slowbro and alternated between buffing, cheering, and using stored energy, so we could keep every round pink friend alive.)

Greninja Gastrodon Tera Raid Build
- nature: decent
- capacity: storm drain
- Terra type: my land
- electric vehicles: 4 Defense / 252 HP / 252 Special Attack
- IVS: Maximum HP, Defense, Special Attack
- Retained item: fine sand
- move set: Clear smog (mirror grass movement), restore, earth power
To give Gastrodon Clear Smog, delete a move from its repertoire, give it Mirror Herb to keep, and set up a picnic with only Gastrodon and another Pokémon Clear Smog knows. Foongus and Torkoal both learn of this through compromise. After about a minute, your Gastrodon should learn your Clear Smog from its outing partner.
The strategy with Gastrodon is to double-team Greninja with Clear Smog and then spam Earth Power. Once you can Terastillize, power up and keep spamming Earth Power. Heal and continue blotting as needed.
The prize here with Gastrodon is its ability to Storm Drain, which not only makes it immune to Water-type moves, but absorbs all Water-type moves, so no other Pokemon in your raids will hit it either. He also boosts his special attack when he absorbs moves, becoming a hideous batter. You don’t have to worry about the health depleting water pump if you have a Gastrodon in your party!
Greninja Clodsire Tera Raid build
- nature: decent
- capacity: absorb water
- Terra type: my land
- electric vehicles: 4 Special Defense / 252 HP / 252 Special Attack
- IVS: Maximum HP, Defense, Special Attack
- Retained item: leftovers
- move set: Acid spray, helping hand, cold water, earth power
The Clodsire build we recommend is more supportive, so don’t expect to shoot Greninja all at once, but you’ll be able to boost your companions that use Gastrodon, Slowbro, or other offensive Pokemon.
Irritating cold water to lower Greninja’s attack and acid spray to lower her special defense. This will leave him wide open to attacks, increasing his damage dealt and decreasing his damage output. Use the Helping Hand to strengthen your allies a bit more and you can use the power of the Earth to help deal damage, especially once Greninja’s special defense is lowered.
Absorbing water, similar to Gastrodon’s storm drain ability, will make Clodsire immune to water-type moves. Alternatively, Greninja’s water pump will heal Clodsire. The damage from Ice Beam will continue, but you shouldn’t hit it all at once. Make sure to heal by using chants appropriately.
