Bayern Munich 4-4 RB Salzburg: Initial reactions and notes

Initial reactions and notes

  • A stubborn defense cost Bayern Munich the win tonight. It’s strange how often the defense stalled with Salzburg in possession, given how overwhelmingly dominant the team was.
  • Julian Nagelsmann needs to end this experiment with Thomas Müller as striker. It doesn’t work and it never has.
  • Dayot Upamecano never seems to have missed out on a win from the World Cup.
  • Matisse Tal and Arjun Ibrahimovic – what a young pair! Based on this game, they should play in the second half of the season.
  • Joshua Kimmich is the only player to play 90 minutes which is something Joshua Kimmich does.

full time: Bayern Munich 4-4 Salzburg.

89 ‘- goal. Salzburg makes it 4-4. Hey man.

88′ – GOOOOOOOOOAL! How did he fire Tal from there? Anyway, he did it! 4-3 to Bayern!

70′ – GOOOOOOOOAL! Kingsley Coman makes it 3-3!

68′ – wow! Arjun Ibrahimovic makes it 2-3! Can Bayern still win this?

62 ‘- Subs: Too much to list. Only Kimmich remained on the field.

53 ‘- goal. That was really a goal. But honestly, what’s going on? Salzburg leads 3-1.

51 ‘- goal. Salzburg now take the lead from the corner. Weak defense.

45′- The second half begins!

half time: Bayern Munich 1-1 RB Salzburg.

16 ‘- goal. Quetta makes the score 1-1. Totally against the course of playing there.

9′ – GOOOOOOAL! Leroy Sane makes it 1-0! Great run and passed by Gravenberch for the help.

Starting: We are in full swing! For the first time in 2023, we will see Bayern take to the field!

1 hour until kick-off: We have a line up! Julian Nagelsmann selects the powerful Bayern Munich XI for this part of the friendly match. You can be sure that there will be a lot of substitutions.

So the time has finally come for the first time Bayern Munich Game 2023. Honestly, we’ve been so deprived of content in the past few months that any kind of football is a godsend. The Bundesliga is impressive for its winter break allowing players to rest, but with the World Cup break the gap is almost unbearable.

We almost went back, though. Bayern Munich goes into its first friendlies much later than most other German clubs, perhaps because the club had a much higher percentage of stars attending the World Cup. Lucas Hernandez and Manuel Neuer will miss out with long-term injuries, while Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed Matthijs de Ligt will sit out as a precaution.

This will be the first time we’ve seen the team in action since the restroom break. How much has changed in that time?
