Cristiano Ronaldo is struggling to afford £4,500 a month for his £17m home

MailOnline has learned Cristiano Ronaldo is trying to hire a chef to feed him and his family at their ‘permanent home’ – but he’s struggling to find one to meet his famously strict demands.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is having problems recruiting someone to cook for him and his loved ones at the £17m home he has built on the Portuguese Riviera, it is understood.

The mansion, which was due to be completed in June, has been dubbed Cristiano’s retirement home, as he expected to make it his family’s main residence once he closed his boots – which could be any time this summer.

Some staff vacancies associated with the new mansion, including a butler at £4,800 a month, are said to have already been filled, but the role of cook remains vacant.

Respected Portuguese daily Correo da Manha blamed the problem on the demands of Cristiano and his partner, Spanish model and influencer Georgina Rodriguez, who reportedly revolved around figuring out how to cook traditional Portuguese food — as well as more international dishes like sushi.

The Portugal international, who ended up sitting on the bench during the World Cup in Qatar to the horror of his sisters, is believed to have specifically designed an area in his new mansion on the Portuguese Riviera for preparing Japanese delicacies.

The question of who will bring sushi and other meals for him, Rodriguez and their five children is said to give him a real headache.

Ronaldo, who was officially unveiled this month as the Saudi Al-Nassr superstar who signed a contract worth £173m per year, has been unable to find the right person despite offering someone a salary of around £4,500 per month. Prepare his favorite dishes.

Although he’s a huge sushi lover, the mum of the former Old Trafford striker, Dolores Aveiro, revealed that his favorite fish is bacalhau a bras which is a traditional Portuguese dish made with cod, potatoes and eggs.

She let the secret last year because she admitted he gets into pizza once a week, though, she added in an interview with a Portuguese TV presenter who let her into her Madeira home: “After that he does a lot of sit-ups.”

Ronaldo claimed he turned down many clubs when he was introduced as Al Nasr’s new star earlier this month.

“I am so proud of making this big decision in my life,” he said. In Europe my work is done. I won everything and played for the most important clubs in Europe. This is a new challenge.

His claim came on the back of reports that he ended up heading to the Middle East after seeing that his efforts to continue playing Champions League football following his dramatic departure from Manchester United had gone nowhere.

Athletic said Ronaldo was available for several unnamed Champions League teams for just £80,000 a week before his move to Saudi Arabia.

He is said to have disobeyed the advice of his agent Jorge Mendes to make the big money move orchestrated by his friend and personal manager Ricardo Regoff.

MailOnline exclusively revealed last week that Ronaldo is staying at the Kingdom Tower, one of the tallest buildings in Saudi Arabia.

He was placed in one of the best suites Riyadh could offer in one of the 17 rooms occupied by his entourage, including his family, friends and security personnel.

The cost for the hotel suite is not even listed on the hotel website and has to be booked privately, as is the neighboring “Royal Suite”. But the smaller ‘Presidential Suite’ can be booked online and costs up to £3,300 per night.

It is estimated that the hotel bill for Ronaldo and his entourage will exceed £250,000 when he checks out and has found a permanent home for his partner and children.

His move to Saudi Arabia led to social media users lashing out at him after footage of the star claiming he wanted to ‘finish on the top level’ surfaced online.

In a 2015 interview with Jonathan Ross, Ronaldo boldly claimed: ‘I want to finish the game at the top level. I want to finish it with dignity, so in a good club.

“It doesn’t mean that going to the US, Qatar or Dubai is not good but I just don’t see myself.”

In response to a question from Ross, “Don’t you want that for you?” Attacker’s response: No.
