FC Erzgebirge Aue shoots SpVgg Bayreuth 4-0 wide. He meets Antonio Gongic, Corbinian Berger, Paul Philippe Besong and Dmitrij Nazarov.
Oh – “Yes, we dance on the snow, snow, snow, snow waltz!” the FC Erzgebirge Aue SpVgg Bayreuth screwed into its first home game of 2023 and won 4-0 (3-0). This was the third win in a row. Aue down from the drop zone. Antonio Junic (23), Korbinjan Berger (38), Paul Philippe Besong (45 + 3) and Dimitrij Nazarov (76) scored the goals on slippery ground (76th place) in front of 7,378 fans.
It was clear even before kick-off that this was not going to be an ordinary match. Despite the diligent helpers and the heating of the lawn, the green was white from the constant snowfall. The ball didn’t roll, it just slid.
Also curious: Bayreuth guests played with snowflakes. Just like the East Frisian flag: a white eagle on a white background.
It was not about beautiful play, it was about fighting power and – if possible – accurate passes to the foot. Everything else was poison.
Despite a quick start from Auer, the upper Franconians were more attractive at the start and had their best chance yet thanks to a 16-meter strike by Alexander Nollenberger (19).
Trying to solve it in a playful way, Violet stumbled from time to time. But then Jonjic gave the snowman and put the red carrot in SpVgg’s face.
Launching an attack on the right, he passed to Nazarov, and he sent him into the penalty area. Jonjich threw the ball over the feet of Edwin Schwartz and attacked Sebastian Kolbe into the goal – 1: 0 (23). He was celebrated with snow falling on his hair. After that, maintenance was the order of the day.
FCE goalkeeper Martin Männel also picked up the snow shovel and re-marked the lines in the five-metre penalty area.
Season! FC Erzgebirge Aue rarely allows anything and leaves the field 4-0
Aue was there now, it set the tone, it didn’t lack anything combative – and follow through.
Nazarov pulled a wide angle towards the far post. Marco Chicora hit the red ball, and Burger saved his thigh – 2: 0 (38).
The counter-attack to make the score 3-0 (45′ + 3) was a feast for the eyes: Nazarov dropped the ball to Chikora just before midfield, who dispatched Besong. He let the snow fly, left Felix Weber and a guard on the left and pushed in. Literally freezing, this Auer!
Because Frau Holle had some catching up and it was snowing non-stop, the lines were marked with red paint at the break. Also mean: conditions didn’t improve, it was hard to get to know the guests.
Bayreuth tried everything and volleyed in a cross from Dennis Lippert (63rd). But basically Aue didn’t allow anything, and played almost flawlessly on defense for the circumstances.
It also worked great up front. Tim Danhoff put the ball on Nazarov in the right corner of the penalty area. And the fraudster moved the ball from there into the post and at – 4: 0 (76).
