Hermann is in third place on Tuesday morning
At the front of the race on Tuesday morning was Team Holcim with leader Kevin Escoffier. Second was the 11-hour race team, right behind it. The two boats parted slightly during the night. Boris Herrmann was in third place with Malizia Seaexplorer, about 40 nautical miles away.

Next stop is Cape Verde
Given the expected strong support winds in the Strait of Gibraltar, it is likely that the racing yachts will only need about five days for the first stage. “Whoever reaches the trade winds first has a good chance of winning the stage,” said Boris Herrmann. After a short stop in Cape Verde, the race will continue on January 25 with the second stage to Cape Town.

forsaken! Ocean Race 2023 has begun
The starting signal has been given for the Ocean Race 2023 in Alicante. The five boats in the Imoka class, including “Malizia – Seaexplorer” Boris Herrmann, took part in the first leg of the team’s legendary round-the-world regatta. It leads more than 1,900 nautical miles (about 3,500 km) to Cape Verde. Estimated arrival is January 22nd.
In general, the ocean race lasts more than half a year. The seventh and final stage will start in The Hague on June 15th. The match ends with the grand finale in Genoa. Arrival expected July 1st.
